Georges Pompidou visits the military base Hortensia de Mururoa
As part of his trip to the Pacific, Prime Minister Georges POMPIDOU visited the military base Hortensia where the first nuclear tests will take place. This is also where the technicians of the CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique) and engineers of different specialties are installed who are engaged in studies of all kinds: climatological, geological or chemical. Images of the Prime Minister visiting technical installations and greeting the Polynesian workers who are working on the construction of this base which has grown considerably in less than a year.
