Father Gérard DEFOIS, Secretary General of the French Episcopate, gives the Catholic Church’s view on homosexuality: "...one of the dangers at the present time is that homosexuality should be recognized as a kind of uncontrolled freedom for minors and on this point, because it goes to the nature of man and the dignity of sexuality, the Church wishes very strongly to say that it is not possible, moreover the WHO goes in this direction, to recognize for a standard what is, in our opinion, a kind of drift".
