Cribs, a religious symbol in a secular republic

The presence of Christmas cribs in public spaces has created controversy in the cities of Béziers and La Roche sur Yon by virtue of the principle of secularism. The law of 1905 forbids "to erect or affix any sign or religious emblem on public monuments". The interviews of Jean REGOURD, President of the 85 Federation of Free Thought, Philippe DE VILLIERS, former President of the Vendée General Council and Nicolas CADENE, Observatory of Secularism, feed the debate.
