The future of the Grand Paris Express at stake

The construction sites of the Grand Paris Express, a set of metro lines serving the Parisian suburbs, are scheduled to start in 2015. Only concerns remain about the funding of this project. Valérie PECRESSE, president of the UMP group at the Regional Council, said that the project might not see the light of day because of a lack of funding. Christian FAVIER, President of the General Council of the Val de Marne is worried about the possible cancellation of the works, according to him the Greater Paris Express will have a certain impact on the employment and businesses of his department. Frédéric CUVILLIER, Minister for Transport, says that funding will be sufficient, as will Cécile DUFLOT, Minister for Equality of Territories and Housing in charge of Greater Paris.
