This rationing will be applied to industrialists and individuals who are asked to limit their gas consumption by 25%, implying restrictions in terms of heating, hot water and domestic gas for cooking food. Michel d'ORNANO, Minister of Industry, presented the eleven government measures taken to achieve energy savings. These measures concern in particular the rationing of domestic heating oil, the limitation of the temperature of premises to 20 degrees, insulation, the limitation of speed for cars to 90 km hour on roads and 140 km hour on motorways, the priority is given to public transport whose fares will not increase, bus corridors will be developed as well as car parks. No rationing announced in the industries but tax incentives aimed at limiting the use of heavy fuel oil by the industrialists. An 8% increase in the price of electricity and 3% for domestic consumption is expected, the increase in the price of gas is expected to be 10% while that of coal will be 5%.
