URCAM (Union régionale des caisses d'assurance maladie) conducted a survey which revealed the misuse of certain drugs. In Burgundy, the mediator, amphetamine prescribed to diabetics to lose weight, is also prescribed for half to people who are not sick but want to thin. URCAM believes that in this case the drug should no longer be reimbursed by social security.
