Les épicéas et autres résineux des forêts de l’Orne, sont attaqués par des insectes. Privés d’eau, à cause de la sécheresse, ils n’ont pas assez de résine pour se défendre et doivent être détruits. La crainte de Jean Jamin, de l’Office national des forêts, c’est qu’un jour, « il n’y aura plus d’arbres malades parce qu’il n’y aura plus d’arbres ».
