On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the jazz club "New Morning", the musician Manu DIBANGO evokes the New Morning "a house of state of mind", like jazz.
A few weeks after the opening of the New Morning jazz club in Paris, Pierre BAGUT talks about the ambitions of this concert hall: "we wanted to bring jazz out of the cellars a little", "a wide, airy place designed primarily for musicians and for music, where people feel comfortable". As for music he admits "we would like to go beyond jazz if it is possible, we would not want to enter into any quarrel on the level of jazz... we are above all open to music".
Interviewed by Philippe LEFAIT on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the New Morning, Eglal FARHI exclaimed "it is a top made of weapon! Getting here is extraordinary". She returns to the choice of this place to create a jazz club: "It is a large loft that is intended to promote the contact between the musicians and the public that they have in front of them without being disturbed". She ends with an anecdote about her missed opening for security reasons (non-compliant emergency exits): the concert that Richie Havens was supposed to give was finally given on the radio.
