Rising EDF prices: difficulties for some households
Since Sunday electricity is charged on average 3.4% more. For 90% of French households, the additional cost will be around 30 euros per year. That’s not much, and it’s a lot at the same time. Many households are struggling to pay their electricity bills. Turning on the light is simple but the number of those for whom it becomes difficult has increased in recent months and not to risk the suspension of power supplies. EDF ensures that it has provided assistance devices. The agents of the platforms of the electrician of France must therefore take into consideration the difficult situations but it happens that the power is cut, that is where the militants of the Resel intervene. This is of course an extreme, the recent increase in the EDF rate, estimated at 1 euro 50 per month for an individual should not change the situation but the economic and social context risks it to increase the difficulties of some this winter when heating will be necessary.
