Fifty years ago: the First World War

In Paris, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the departure of the soldiers mobilized for the First World War. Jean SAINTENY, Minister of Veterans Affairs, reviews Veterans Affairs flags. Gare de l'Est, it inaugurates a plaque recalling the departure of the mobilized from the Paris region on August 2, 1914. The report is followed by a retrospective in images of the First World War: are traced the mobilization and the departure of the soldiers by train, the taxis of the Marne, the columns of infantrymen, the trenches, the artillery shots, soldiers in the tablecloths and a city devastated by war.
