Simulated earthquake for fire brigade training

As part of a training of the fire brigade, an earthquake simulation was organized in Nice in order to plan the organization of the relief, especially with the dog handlers of the Alpes Maritimes department. A good search dog in rubble must not be afraid of fire, of being boarded in a helicopter, he must be obedient and trust his master. The dog must be able to find buried human odors to allow rescuers to intervene. The complicity and affection between a dog and its owner are indispensable. Jean Pierre BIANCHERI, national instructor of rubble dogs, Patrick FERNANDEZ, master dog of Cagnes sur Mer and Claude CALATAYUD, departmental director of fire and rescue services testify.
