Alors qu'il est depuis des années quelque peu en retrait des studios hollywoodiens, Brian de Palma s'est mué en écrivain avec la parution de son premier roman, "Les serpents sont-ils nécessaires ?". Micro-trottoir de fans et interview de l'intéressé, invité du Festival international du polar de Lyon : "C'est plus facile d'écrire un livre que de réaliser un film... J'ai des tas d'idées de films mais à mon âge, je sais que je ne pourrai pas tout faire, donc j'ai préféré écrire un livre et j'ai tout mis dedans."
