Abbé Pierre on the issue of poor housing

Abbé Pierre defines bad housing: several couples sharing the same housing, without water, without toilets. According to figures established by Joseph Wresinski for the economic and social council, there are 2.5 million families poorly housed in France. Comparing the current situation with that which existed in 1954, Abbé Pierre recognizes that there were 29% of poorly housed after the war and that currently there are only 9%. However, this currently represents about 5 million people: men, women, children and old people.
