Miles Davis

Miles Dewey Davis III was born on May 26, 1926 in Alton (Illinois) but it was in East Saint Louis that the American trumpeter, composer, arranger, producer, and bandleader grew up. From bepop to jazz rock, his versatility has allowed him to participate in all major developments in jazz. Knight of the Legion of Honor, awarded several Grammys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he is considered one of the greatest musicians of all time.
