Report on international sanctions to which the self-proclaimed president of Côte d'Ivoire is exposed. Comment on archival images: Laurent GBAGBO was sworn in on December 4, when he lost the election. Comment on factual images: military vehicle in the streets of Abidjan, soldier searching a civilian’s body. Excerpt from Nicolas SARKOZY’s speech yesterday in Brussels in the European Council gallery: "Laurent GBAGBO and his wife have their destiny in their hands. If, before the end of the week, Laurent GBAGBO has not left his post in violation of the will of the Ivorian people, they will be named on the sanctions list". On archive images (pro OUATTARA demonstration, tyre fire) statement of the sanctions envisaged by the European Community: travel bans, freezing of financial assets. Re-broadcast of a telephone interview granted to France 24 by Luis MORENO-OCAMPO, prosecutor of the International Criminal Court: the latter warns that he will institute proceedings against anyone responsible for deadly violence in Côte d'Ivoire. Comment on images of the Port of Abidjan: the threat of economic asphyxiation is real, the IMF has already announced that it will no longer cooperate with Laurent GBAGBO, the World Bank that it will not cancel as promised the three billion of the country’s debt. Conclusion on illustration images (cocoa harvest): the country could even be prevented from exporting its main resource: cocoa.
