Montluc’s prison in Lyon has become a national memorial to the victims of Nazi repression during the Second World War. It opened its doors to the first visitors on the occasion of Heritage Day. Between 1942 and 1944, 8000 prisoners, resistance fighters, Jews arrested by the Gestapo, were interned in this prison. Place of torture, execution or antechamber of the deportation, this prison became a memorial. Interviews with visitors and the testimony of Andrée GAILLARD, a former prisoner of Montluc who was arrested at the age of 8 with her mother, alternate with the journalist’s comments.
