Presidential election in Ukraine: victory of Viktor Yanukovych
Report in Kiev on the victory of the opposition in the presidential elections in Ukraine. Viktor YANUKOVYCH, the pro-Russian candidate, now takes the lead in the country. In his first speech as the new Ukrainian president, he called for the union of Ukraine, which seems to be a difficult union. Indeed, while the West feels close to the West, the industrial East from which the new president came has its eyes on Moscow. Moreover, his rival, Loulia Tymoshenko, although beaten, remained prime minister.
