Nicolas Sarkozy has abandoned his position as Minister of the Interior and is replaced by François BAROIN. Excerpt from his farewell speech, and commentary by Dominique DE VILLEPIN, Prime Minister. Nicolas SARKOZY declared: "I was thinking this morning. There is a lot of nostalgia and a little sadness, but for me what is it? Just trying to change the sidewalk. Leaving before that was to let my team fight against insecurity and illegal immigration and I wanted to lead this action, whatever the risks, until the last moment when it was possible for me to do so". Sonore Dominique DE VILLEPIN: "I thanked him for the action he took in the service of the security of all French and French with the results we know".
