The walls of the Carcassonne mosque were covered with racist slogans, swastikas and Celtic crosses. A police investigation is underway. The head of the mosque filed a complaint. Interviewed, Jean-Louis BESSE, deputy mayor of the town hall of Carcassonne explains: "...attacking a mosque is like attacking a synagogue, a church or a temple, it is also attacking the Republic". Interviewed, Habib BAMMOU, President of the Islamic Dawn Association, said: "...they are trying to provoke us, but we must be calm, we must not try to light the fire...".
