Chikungunya virus sequencing

For the first time, researchers from the Institut Pasteur have sequenced the chikungunya virus. It is a mutant virus, born of the encounter, in Reunion, between an African mosquito and a mosquito native to Asia. This mutation would explain the mosquito’s great contagiousness. Images of the island of Reunion where the next demoustication campaign is being prepared with the interviews of Anna-Bella FAILLOUX, entomologist and Sylvain BRISSE, researcher at the Institut Pasteur in Paris on their research.
