Start of the fifth edition of the Vendée Globe Challenge
The start of the Vendée Globe Challenge, a solo offshore race, was given to the Sables d'Olonne. The twenty monohulls started mid-day, pushed by a very small wind. Encouraged by an impressive fleet of small boats. A hedge of honour to greet the sailors and navigators who start this solo race without stopping or assistance. Eric COQUEREL from the "PRB" team talks about Vincent Riou. Denis HOREAU’s reaction to the good starting conditions of the race.
