En ce mois de juillet 1994 l’installation du premier magasin Tati en Martinique, à Fort-de-France, est un événement. Le jour de l’ouverture c’est la cohue devant le magasin et le succès est tel qu’il y a un embouteillage dans la rue. Les vigiles ont dû mal à maintenir la foule qui attend à l’extérieur. Des clientes sont là depuis 06h30 du matin. Les impressionnantes images de la foule à l’extérieur et dans le magasin, des paniers portés au-dessus des têtes, alternent avec un microtrottoir de clients, le témoignage d’un vigile et d’une vendeuse, et l’interview de Jean-Claude DESGROTTES, directeur du magasin, de Fabien OUAKI, directeur de Tati.
