Exceeding the speed of sound is a feat that man has been able to achieve since the 1950s. In France it is with the military aircraft Mystère II of the Dassault industries that this speed is crossed. The Concorde supersonic aircraft passed this speed in 1977. Back here!
Commercial supersonic flights only cross the sound barrier over uninhabited areas, or over seas to limit noise nuisance. Here in the cockpit of the Concorde, the instruments indicate that, after 45 minutes of flight, the aircraft reached Mach I.
At Le Bourget, the public is present to admire the flights of the new supersonic, the trident and the Mystery II of Dassault which crosses the wall of sound twice during this demonstration.
