Inauguration of the European Court of Human Rights

The new Single European Court of Human Rights is inaugurated today. It will sit all year long in Strasbourg and will replace the former Court of Human Rights created 50 years ago. It consists of one judge per member country of the Council of Europe. Black and white archive of the founding of the European Convention on Human Rights in 1950.
