Josephine Pencalet was one of the leaders of the great sardine beach in Douarnenez in 1924. In 1925, she ran in municipal elections on the Communist Party list. She will be elected long before women have the right to vote. Her election was invalidated since women were not yet eligible. Back on this journey by the historian Jean-Michel LE BOULANGER, and Michel MAZEAS, former mayor of Douarnenez.
