The IPCC is trying to "contribute to the peace of the future"

Dominique RAYNAUD, glaciologist and member of the IPCC, the group of experts open to the paus of the UN, whose mission is to understand the risks related to climate change. He welcomes the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the IPCC in 2007: "I am very happy and proud that it is not a scientific prize but that it is the Nobel Peace Prize". He thinks that in the spirit of the Nobel Committee, the idea was to give a prize to "a group of people who with their knowledge are trying to contribute to the peace of the future".
