In Limoges, students learn sign language

In Limoges, students learn sign language with a deaf and mute teacher. The mother of a deaf student explains that she finds her daughter more fulfilled since this new teacher dispenses her classes. The professor, Jean François Mercurio, testifies to the difficulties he encountered with the so-called "oralist" method (teaching lip reading and sound training) and confides that only sign language has allowed him to progress when he was a child.
