Reopening of the Lascaux Cave

The Lascaux cave was closed in 1963 by the Ministry of Culture because of illness (a kind of mould attacking the stone). After therapy, the cave could soon be reopened. Commentary on factual images and interview with Henri de SEGOGNE, President of the Lascaux Safeguard Commission, who believes that a reopening in 1966 would be premature.
