Inauguration of the Pierre Cardin Museum in Saint-Ouen
Pierre CARDIN chose Saint-Ouen and a former paint factory to open his museum two days ago. The exhibition presents 140 models that have been restored for the occasion and that represent all "a life of creation". Renée TAPONIER, the museum’s curator and Pierre Cardin himself, offer a guided tour of the site. - Renée Taponier joined Pierre Cardin as an apprentice. She states that she wanted "a living museum" as the designer by talking about the staging of the models on display. It explains the reasons for the choice of Saint-Ouen. - Pierre CARDIN (84) walks through the museum and tells the story of a few models on display: his first creation, his lucky coat. He remembers with joy all his years of creation and is delighted to have been able to make this museum in his lifetime.
