Grand Palais: dismantling of the quadrige

The major restoration of the Grand Palais, which is to last four years, will begin in September, while waiting for the two quadriges, that is to say the ancient chariots harnessed with four horses will be renovated because the iron frame has corroded over time. The quadriges will be restored in a workshop in Périgueux, they will find their place in 2003. Jean Claude DUMONT, President of the public institution for cultural works, explains the different phases of restoration of the quadrige.
