A team of international surgeons led by Professor Jean Michel DUBERNARD succeeded in a first surgery at the Edouard Herriot hospital in Lyon: a hand transplant from a donor. The operation lasted twelve hours. Commentary on images of a press conference given at the hospital and of the operation alternating with the interviews of Jean-Michel DUBERNARD, head of department, surgery transplantation and Earl OWEN, Australian surgeon.
