At a symposium at the Economic and Social Council in Paris, Prime Minister Laurent Fabius announced that "the restoration of civic education in education should contribute to the development of our democracy". Indeed, the Minister of Education Jean Pierre Chevènement decided to enroll this subject again in the school program next year at a rate of one hour per week in primary school to begin, then in colleges and vocational high schools. Presentation of some risks related to the return of this teaching withdrawn in 1975.
