In the mid-1950s, three French women set out to cross the Sahara. These three women, France Degand, Janine Delbert and Michèle Cancre d'Orgeix, shot a film of their expedition in the form of nine short films. They discover Niger and its capital Niamey, where they go to a "native" market.
