For the first time since the Liberation, the 8 French unions marched together. The participants' concerns are crisis and unemployment. Interview Bernard VAN CRAEYNEST, President of the CFE CGC: "All the trade union organisations, whatever our differences of thought, of approaches to problems, are sufficiently united to meet the expectations of employees". Interview François CHEREQUE, secretary of the CFDT: "There will be a follow-up to this movement. As always the unions will find a solution together and if there are any who are worried about a union division, I want to reassure them". Interview Annick COUPÉ, from Sud Solidaires: "We think we need a new date in May as soon as possible, a national interprofessional date and for us it must be a call for a general interprofessional strike". Interview Martine AUBRY, first secretary of the PS: "The left would have no sense if it were not there to say that the policy of Nicolas Sarkozy, which will celebrate its second anniversary next week, is economic inefficiency, we are sinking into recession, but it is above all social injustice". Interview Marie George BUFFET, national secretary of the PCF: "Since 29 January the social movement does not weaken and remains united, it means that there is a strong anger in this country".
