Il explique : "... ce qui est difficile, c'est pas de filmer, c'est de regarder et c'est de voir... Filmer, c'est d'abord avoir vu et ensuite se permettre de montrer". Il cite l'exemple du peintre Paul Cézanne et de son tableau de la montagne Sainte-Victoire, "qu'il a passé des années à regarder, avant de découvrir ce qu'il y avait derrière".
