Virginie Despentes and her social origins

After an interview with Sophie CALLE, Virginie DESPENTES is interviewed by Philippe LEFAIT around her third novel, "Les jolies choses" published by Grasset. The hard world, she knows, everything happened to her. She also wants to have a good life, not a rotten one. "Where I come from, it takes courage to write books". She evokes on this occasion her social origins, her life journey in contrast to that of the artist Sophie CALLE and the differences of social class with the elite and the literary milieu she has been working with since her first successes.
