Promoting the economic opening of China, Deng XIAOPING, who launched the repression of the "Beijing Spring" in 1989, died this Wednesday, February 19 at the age of 92 following respiratory complications caused by Parkinson’s disease and a lung infection. At the age of 17, Deng XIAOPING had been in France in the 1920s to attend classes at the Montargis high school and had worked on this occasion as a worker at the Hutchinson factory in Montargis, Loiret. Subject illustrated with many photos and archival documents. Interviews with Emile HEBERT, project manager at Hutchinson, and Jacques WARSCHNITTER, former factory director, on the positions held by Deng Xiaoping, on the social situation of the time and the social conflicts in the factory.
