The volcanologist Maurice KRAFFT explains that he is for the "defense" of volcanoes, notably through a cleverly channeled tourism, as in Yellowstone or Hawaii. He says he was on a volcano for the first time in his life at the age of eight, with his father. Without this tourism, he would never have fallen in love with volcanoes, he would not be a volcanologist.
