Anne Wiazemsky a adoré jouer dans "La Chinoise" et analyse comment Jean-Luc Godard, avec qui elle était en couple, a mêlé fiction et réalité durant ce tournage : "il m'a utilisée pour mon plus grand bonheur" ! Dans son livre "Une année studieuse", elle utilise à son tour Godard et s'inspire de l'esthétique de ce film.
