In Saint Ouen, during the 28th congress of the PCF, the appointment of Robert Hue as national secretary of the party was announced. Robert Hue, 47, mayor of Montigny les Cormeilles, succeeds Georges Marchais, visibly moved. Comments on images of the congress and the announcement are followed by a statement by Robert Hue saying: "those who pretend to think that nothing is happening in the Communist Party will be disappointed", as well as by the images of the participants singing "The International".
