Robert Doisneau on his debut at L'Excelsior and "the wonderful in everyday life"
Robert DOISNEAU, Head of External Relations of the National Association of Journalists Reporters Photographes, gives advice to a young person, Serge DUBUISSON, who asks him about his profession. He explains his career: his beginnings as a lithographer at the end of the Ecole Estienne, then as a draftsman of letters, and press photographer at the illustrated newspaper "L'Excelsior" thanks to the photographer André VIGNEAU. He goes back to his first photo report published at the flea market on three-card players. Not liking traveled much, he explains what he is looking for in photography: "trying to show the wonderful in everyday life" and to show it to the man in a hurry passing in the street with blinders.
