On the occasion of the wedding of Princess Anne of England, William HAMILTON, Member of Parliament for Scotland, expressed strong reservations about the British monarchy and the cost of this event. He thinks that "the monarchy is obsolete", that there is no room for a hereditary system in an increasingly democratic regime". He believes that the monarchy is unfair and intolerant. "This system is unacceptable and I want to destroy it". "The monarchy is the symbol of the rich".
