Armed conflict in the Caucasus: President Nicolas SARKOZY, accompanied by Bernard KOUCHNER (Foreign Minister) were received in Moscow by Dmitry MEDVEDEV, President of the Russian Federation, then in Georgia by Mikheil SAAKASHVILI, President of Georgia, to establish a peace plan. N SARKOZY says, however: "If this text is accepted as it stands, it will allow the permanent cessation of hostilities. He does not claim to solve, I told President Saakashvili, all the problems of the region, all the problems of Georgia".
