Mission: enforce the no-fly zone in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Departure on mission from the Cervia base in Italy for Colonel Patrick DUTARTRE at the controls of a Mirage 2000C equipped with fast-fire guns and air-to-air missiles. The flight will last five hours. The NATO General Staff is coordinating operations over Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the colonel, the mission called "Deny flight" is to enforce the "no-fly zone" or no-fly zone alongside NATO and American aircraft. Day and night patrols are conducted. Control of the sky is something fundamental. Operations began the day before at 1400 hours.
