Green Baillon for European environmental campaigners including Philippe Cousteau for European Parliament elections
In the context of the campaign for the election of representatives to the Assembly of European Communities, four activists from Europe Ecology - Solange Fernex, Benoit Fabiani, Philippe Cousteau and Jean Pierre Mortreux- begin their intervention with a green baillon on the mouth, that they then remove. Then three of them take the floor and say that the major parties have done everything they can to prevent them from speaking, but that there will still be elected environmentalists in the European Parliament on June 10. And yet, for lack of money, there will be no ballots or professions of faith sent to voters. They speak out against oil spills, nuclear energy, unemployment, centralisation, minorities, waste of raw materials and energy, degradation of nature leading to despair and drug abuse.
