Disappearance of the term Mademoiselle and maiden name on the administrative forms

The "mademoiselle" lived. This term, as well as the "maiden name" or "wife name", will disappear from the administrative forms, according to a new circular of the services of the Prime Minister, dated today. The organizations "Dare feminism!" and the Guardians had launched in September a campaign for the removal of the "mademoiselle" box in the administrative documents, believing that it was discrimination against women, thus forced to report their marital status. The wife’s name and maiden name also disappear from the forms in favor of surnames and usage. Interview with Julie MURET, national spokesperson for "Dare feminism".
