Paul Emile Victor on the melting of glaciers in Adélie Earth

On 25 February 1976 the Danish polar vessel "Thala Dan" arrived on the Antarctic coast after 25 days of sailing from Australia. On board, Jacques ERTAUD proposes to spend a week on the French scientific base Dumont d'Urville located on the island of Pétrels. On board the polar ship, he meets Paul Emile VICTOR, whose last voyage as director of the French Polar Expeditions presents the characteristics of the Antarctic continent, testifies to the melting of the ice since its first expedition in January 1956 and speaks of the specificity of the Antarctic icebergs, the "tabular" resulting from the melting of the Astrolabe glacier.
