Statement by Edouard BALLADUR, Prime Minister of Matignon. He declared himself a candidate for the presidency of the Republic. His statement is entitled "Believe in France". Excerpt: "I had said, in taking up my position (...), that I wished to consavrer myself exclusively to the recovery of the country and to remain silent on everything else until the beginning of 1995. I kept my promise. Today, the French have the right to know the choice they will have to make, it is to them that I must announce my intentions. I’ve decided to run for President of the Republic.
