The Environment Minister of the Jospin government, Dominique VOYNET, provoked a heated controversy by declaring in the columns of the newspaper Charlie-Hebdo that she was in favour of the decriminalization of cannabis but, above all, that she had already smoked, while remaining very ambiguous about whether or not to smoke... Reactions of Jean-Louis DEBRE (president of the RPR group): "Left caviar, left firecracker..." And reply of the interested party, Dominique VOYNET: "I do not encourage drug use in general, I just wish that France leads this debate as other European countries have led it..."
