Charlie Chaplin defends his film "The Countess of Hong Kong" in front of the press

Charlie CHAPLIN comes to Paris to present his last film "The Countess of Hong Kong". At a press conference, he says he loves this film: "I think it’s a very brilliant film," he says. To the question of why he no longer denounces the injustices of the world, he answers: "I don’t really take myself seriously...the world of entertainment is so immersed in the so-called realism that we need a little relaxation, a little comedy without any ulterior motives".
